Every year ‘Mitra Group’, the De-Addiction Centre at Shanti Nursing Home felicitates the patients who are off alcohol for many years along with their spouses, in a programme called ‘Manuskicha Sohala’. This year it was celebrated on Sunday, 07th January 2018 at Shanti Nursing Home. More than 275 people attended the programme. This was the successful 17th consecutive year of the programme.
The Guest of honor for the programme was Mr. Yajurvendra Mahajan, A renowned Writer, Motivator and Founder Director of DeepStambh Foundation. Almost 70 patients who are off alcohol since 17 years were felicitated at the hands of Mr. Mahajan and Dr. Vinay Barhale.
Mr. Yajurvendra Mahajan on this occasion enumerated the importance of continuous treatment by giving examples of people who have achieved success after fighting with various problems and even disabilities. He also emphasized on the role of family members as caregivers in this journey of De-addiction.
Dr. Barhale further explained about addiction as mental illness in simple understandable language.
He also announced that a group called Maitrin Group will be arranged on 01st Friday of every month for the Stress Management of Wives of the Addict Patients. An informal talk about their issues was also arranged on this occasion wherein many of the wives shared their tensions and views.
Like every year, efforts were made to make this event successful by the team of De-Addiction Centre, Shanti Nursing Home.
