24th May, ‘World Schizophrenia Day’ was celebrated by Shanti Nursing Home and Schizophrenia Swasthya Ani Punarvasan Pratisthan on Wednesday evening. Renowned writers Mr. Achyut Godbole and Mrs. Neelambari Joshi were the Chief Guests for the programme. Both of them enumerated the gravity, scope, after effects, related social aspects and need for regular treatment of patients of Schizophrenia. Both of them are coauthors of the book ‘Mankallol’ written on Psychiatric Illnesses.
This was followed by an interview of Dr. Vinay Barhale and Dr. Vinayak Patil taken by both the authors discussing various aspects related to Schizophrenia.
Dr. Vinay Barhale has given the message ‘Be Aware and Make Aware’ for spreading the awareness about Schizophrenia in society.
Almost 400 people attended the programme. We are grateful for the overwhelming response we have received.
