Every year ‘Mitra Group’, the De-Addiction Centre at Shanti Nursing Home felicitates the patients who are off alcohol for many years along with their spouses, in a programme called ‘Manuskicha Sohala’. This year it was celebrated on Sunday, 01st January 2017 at Shanti Nursing Home. More than 350 people attended the programme. This was the successful 15th consecutive year of the programme.
The Guest of honor for the programme was Mrs. Seema Risbud, former metron of Dr. Hedgewar Rugnalay and a Spiritual Orator. Almost 100 patients who are off alcohol since 16 years were felicitated at the hands of Risbud Madam.
Mrs. Seema Risbud on this occasion enumerated the importance of medicines and spiritual awakening in the treatment of addiction, a mental illness. She also described the instances were addiction has posed great harm to the personal as well as social life of people.
Dr. Barhale further explained about addiction as mental illness in simple understandable language.
